NOOXY
i did this render sometime ago and recently got the rpc plugin for cinema 4d and started experimenting with it in the scene.. my problem is i've placed an rpc object in front of a mirror but it does not reflect the rpc in the right direction..e.g. if someone is watching the mirror they see their back in the mirror..does someone have a solution to this please?? i've post an example pic.. Frosty
i dont think this is a problem with RPCs. As far as I'm aware, there is only one texture on the RPC plane at one time. The plug-in switches out the texture based on viewing direction, but it does not consider front/back/side for reflections. This, I think, is one of the limitations of any technique using flat planes and maps to represent objects - shadow casting is of course another difficulty. I think a simpler solution to achieve what you are asking for is to use a low-polygone mapped figure. There are a number of suppliers of these. Another solution, though more complicated, would be to have multiple planes representing the figure. Plane A would be perpendicular and visible to the camera and reflections. Plane B would be perpindicular to the camera and visible to reflections bu tnot to the camera. Plane B would show the oposite image of Plane A. Plane C would perpendicular to planes A and B and visible to only reflections.
ecastillor
or....if its just a still image, place the rpc in photoshop....that way, u can rotate the person to achieve that reflection effect on the mirror...ive done that pleny of times...
