wilky9
Hey guys, I'm new to arch visualization, but I really enjoy it. I'm doing a freebie project for a remodeler as a portfolio piece, and I'm looking for suggestions as to how I can improve it. I'd like to have as photorealistic looking image as possible. Using Max 7 and Vray. I did not get as much information from the designer as I'd like, so I had to guess on the floor and countertop materials. Thanks Chris
dbarc
it's crying out for some sign of human occupation - potted herbs, kettle, kitchen towels. That kind of thing would help the image alot.. Also maybe add some plant siluoette to the light coming from the window to suggest a world beyond the model

wilky9
Thank you guys for your suggestions. It does look a little bare in there right now. I wasn't sure how much "creative license" I could take on the design. I guess as long as I don't change the structure of the room, I can add some touches to it to make it look more livable and inviting. Thanks again! Tim Saunders
you for sure have liberty to do stuff like that. it might be cool to see just the edge of a dining room table in the foreground with a strong reflection of the kitchen. for sure throw some stuff on those shelves on the corner. hardnozehockey
I agree. Good start. The direct light is a bit overexposed... tone it down just a tad. No backsplash along the counter? Either way, good start.
wilky9
Here's an update. I added some stuff to the room, and worked on refining the appliance models. I'm not happy with the night time shot. The detail on the cabinet faces is being funky, it might have to do with the anti-ailiasing. I like the day time shot better, but I might need more light on the near faces. No, I asked the designer about a backsplash, but he said that there wasn't to be one. Again, I welcome any suggestions you might have
