booman
I have been having this problem with my 3d renderings. I do 3d modeling for landscaping hardscapes and masonry, and when I render a model the perspective isn't realistic. It is a "to-scale" rendering instead of a true perspective. Basicly, when things get farther away they don't get smaller, they stay the same size. Is there a patch or upgrade where the programmers have made a new perspective view for auto cad? gfa2
You need to go into the 3Dorbit command, then right click anywhere on the screen and choose "projection" then change it from "parallel" to "perspective". You can then play around with the distance (under the "More" section) to get different feels for the vanishing point.

booman
Man I feel so dumb. I looked in the help files, I searched on the internet for "perspectives" "cad 2006 3d" etc. and found nothing. But all I had to do was right click in the orbit tool!!!??? That worked perfetly. I feel dumb because I was telling our designer that Cad didn't do a true perspective and now I know it does. Thank you sooooo much. That was an invaluable tip. booman
Ok I do have another problem. When I do the perspective command in the viewport to render, the model dissapears. I don't think it is regenerating because I can still move the orbit tool and the axis arrow move also. Ok, I figured out the problem. I don't have to render in the viewport, I can just render from the model space. thanks again
