Hi,

I am trying to render out of combustion 3.

What I have are six imported avi.

I am trying to add seperate audio files to three of these avi.

and render out one master avi, that will play the audio files???

Is this possible????

The manual say "There is one audio file per workspace.

You can have more than one piece of footage with audio in the workspace, but only one appears in the audio panel. It can be be mono or stereo"

I have tried....importing more then two avi that were rendered with audio. then render a composite of the two.....didnt work (no audio)

Tried linking different audio files to seperate imported avi...no luck

Hope this makes sence what I am trying to do....

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Eric

Jeff, thanks for getting back to me on this audio question.

I have rendered several imported avi, with one audio files into one master avi.

Plays both audio and video just fine. Not sure what NLE is???

Although Combustion will import several different avi....cant seem to import

several different audio files and render out so the master avi plays the video and the audio????

The project that I am working on is for a trade show booth.

The avi will be displayed on a tv. (1024 x 768)

The master avi will be composed of about eight projects avi.

Currently at 70% complete the avi is ten minutes in lenght

about 1.5g in size. Using the sound recorder, I merged several wav files

that get me one wav to cover ten minutes of playtime.

I was hoping to have breaks in the music, but doesnt seem to be working out that way. Project video w/music.....transition video no music........project w/music.......

Anyways...enough out of me.....Thanks again for getting back with me on this topic

NLE = Non Linear Editor (aka Premiere, Vegas, Avid, Media100 etc)

Sounds like for what you want to do, you really should invest in one of the above. It will make your live MUCH easier. Combustion is meant for compositing, not video editing.

As an aside, I highly reccomend Vegas over Premiere. I think you will find a lot of people will agree.

Jeff / William,

Thanks for your comments. The work flow for the completed avi that I am working on is....

(1) importing a photoshop file with mutiple images into combustion.

(2) Applying transitions and such to create a project avi.

(3) importing several completed projects avi into a master avi. It seems more of a compositing sequence then video editing.

Because of Combustions audio limitations (my learning curve), video editing seems to be at the audio level. Adding mutliple audio tracks to a master avi.

I have a Combustion 2 training dvd set....no mention of audio

Searched Autodesk Combustion knowledge base.....no results.

Text manuals limited information.

I still am not convinced either way if I can or cannot add multiple audio tracks in combustion. Such is life.

I purchased Pinnacle Studio about a month or so ago. Used it to create dvds.

What I will try next, is to create a master avi in combustion, and add mutliple audio tracks in Pinnacle Studio. Will see how that works.

William....Beaver Dam is treating me pretty good. I work as an illustrator for an aquatic design firm. Water Technology Inc. I also do marketing which allows to explore video and animations. Good job , good company.

How is life in Waukesha? I visited your web site...looks like your staying pretty busy....

Thanks again for your comments Jeff / William.

  • 1 month later...

1) you can always use after effects to combine audio & video together ... it allows for multiple audio tracks. though realtime render of audio is limited to memory available.

2) you could use soundforge 8 to create/mix an audio track . First create a compiled avi in combustion. render out a preview avi file without audio. Use soundforge to mix an audio track using the preview video track for ref. It has a video feedback option for avi files. render a single audio track then compile the edited audio with the original video in combustion.

3) Get an NLE :D
