fernando-1
I have modeled a few boats in 3DMAX7 and want to create animations for showing clients. I am looking for a MAX plugin that will animate ripples and waves as the boat sails thru water in a fairly realistic but not necessarly accurate manner. I am looking at these two PLUGINS... DREAMSCAPE http://www.afterworks.com/DreamScape.asp and SEASCAPE http://www.trinity3d.com/xcart/customer/product.php?productid=105&js=n Any suggestions. Creapix
Hi Fernando, The choice mainly depends on what other features you want, and/or if you'll have a use for them in the future. Dreamscape gets updated more often and has a complete atmospheric system too, along with its own rendering algorythms (which could be a problem with third-party renderers maybe). Don't forget that you could also do that with some reactor and particle flow programming to get something quite realistic, and it wouldn't cost you anything. Otherwise, if you ONLY plan to render water surfaces and create your own atmosphere and environment, then go with seascape and save the money. But my bet is that you'll like some nice and easy atmosphere setups for your animation, along with the ability to handle a lot of potential terrain, atmosphere and nature animations in the future. Then Dreamscape would be your best choice. Free choice : reactor + pflow Average, water only choice : seascape Complete water, sky, etc choice : dreamscape. If you're not gonna do the reactor+pflow way, for the price difference you'd be better with Dreamscape.
