Eggfoot
Hello I've recently put together a small render farm, stringing 4 computers together over the office LAN. All using Max 7.5 Educational licences on XP Pro. The problem is that one of the four isn't being recogised, even though the Backburner manager picks it up. When I procced with a render from the manager PC, this particular server machine isnt on the Network Job Assignment list when I connect. When I use this machine as a manager, the opposite occurs and I dont see the other server machines in the Net Assignment list. So.. The Backburner Manager picks up all the machines, and so does the monitor! But not the Net job Assignment! Its a mystery! I've checked sharing and permissions on this particular machine and it appears ok. All machines can see each other in Windows and share folders and are on the same server. However I'm no network manager, so I don't know if there's anything extra to do. I dont know whether this is a network problem or a max licence problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance
abicalho
Do you have the Windows Firewall (default in XP SP2)? Is 3dsmax allowed by the firewall or is the firewall disabled?
