FMNG Posted September 14, 2005 Share Posted September 14, 2005 hi guys, i have a lighting question that i don't understand why. hope you guys out there can give me a light here is the case. the image above with only 2 Omi light, which is one omi Light is with "Ambiant only" and "Far Attenuation" is activate. For the second Omi light is only "Deffuse and Specular" with no "Far Attenuation" apply. as you can see, the shading was circle up is so soft and nice. this is what i expected. here the problem is. This scene also with only 2 Omi light, one is with "Ambiant Only" and "Far Attenuation" is activate. vertexART Posted September 14, 2005 Share Posted September 14, 2005 hi there, seems like your difference between far attenuation start & end is too small. U should try either lowering your far>start or increasing far>end, or maybe both. U can try with a different shadow type but that will depend on the renderer choice. hope it helps. FMNG Posted September 15, 2005 Author Share Posted September 15, 2005 hi vertexArt. i don't think is the far>start or far>end problem, it is fine if i create a new omi with far attenuation is apply but without stracthen it with uniform scale. the hard shading is only appear when i stracthen the far attenuation to fit to sub-object.
