I get a similar problem when doors/windows are linked to walls. Let's say I move a linked window 6" to the right (by typing in the distance either as a relative or absolute amount). No change on screen. I try to grab and move the window with the cursor, and now the window jumps to 6" to the right and moves around interactively with the cursor.

In my situation there's no way around it. Usually after typing in a distance for the door/window I'll grab it with the move cursor so that it will jump to its correct place (but now the door/window is moving interactively with my cursor) and release the left mouse button, hit CTRL-Z to undo. It's a pain, but then I can see the new position of the window/door.

An even longer way to see the changes are to type in a displacement distance, save file, close file, reopen file to see the updated position of the door/window. I'm sure if you unlink the window/door you will have no problem with moving it. But then that defeats the purpose of the auto boolean operation, doesn't it?

The thing is that you won't get the MOVE tool to work with AEC objects unless you are in DesignViz mode. Be sure to have it selected before you start working. About Enrique's problem, that also will happen when you're not in DesignViz mode. Note that if you move the, let's say, window, it won't move at first, but if you repeat the command it will. The problem is that once you save your file and re-open it, your window will be at twice the height you intended.

Another thing that might cause that problem is the distance your model is from the origin. Sometimes (at least happened to my a couple of times) when you're doing thing far from the origin, Max goes nuts. Check that.
