maurocan
heres an interior, i find it dull, not neat, lack of contrast, etc... i´m using max 6.0, vray, color mapping:exponential 1, thanks for all your c&c´s
kris
Use dark multiplyer 1.5 so exterior is lighter and use auto levels in Photoshop and your rendeing will have more contrast.
Fernando Lino
Maurocan, You have a lot option to improve your image....change your presets to medium at least. Increase the light subdivisions ( under light settings)…tweak the QMC setting and/or system setting. Don’t use pure white as diffuse color; for the glass, turn GI off (Vray properties
DennisHolland
The render wouldn't be half as dull with an interesting interior. I think your settings are good enough to level things (maybe some colour adj.) in PS. Also, I think the way to go for a more interesting look depends on a nice backdrop (outside environment)... maurocan
Dennis, i agree, but i´m comparing with max5.0 and for the same settings are much better.... without increasing quality i mean. i was switching to max 6.0 in order to use the distributed renderer... but i dont like the result i´m achieving
Tim Saunders
why don't you post the image rendered with max 5 then? to me some changes of just a few of the elements in your scene will improve it, such as the background and the table and chair in the foreground. people on this site always seam to like that curved chair you used for the dining chair, but it never renders good. nothing your doing wrong, it looks crappy in everyone's rendering. just use a different chair. i think the scene overall is really good. it has some serious potential with some very minor changes. maurocan
i´ve come back to max 5.0, i see it a little better, but not great, please any tips, c&c's wellcome thanks for your help
Tommy L
Your foreground is suffering from just having a big expanse of white. Try putting some stuff on the table (with DOF) or having blurred reflections on the table.
Tim Saunders
wow. i'm not convinced all your settings are the same. if so, your right, the max5 version is better. mainly the shadow. i love how soft that light is hitting the floor. it just seams like the sun has totally different parameters. maurocan
i dont remember the parameters of the sun at max 6.0... anyway i just cant get the image to be great... you know what i mean ??? the background i´ll place it w PS but i just dont get an image as neat as others on this forum... Tim Saunders
yeah i know what you mean. there is some good stuff we're trying to pull ourselves up to. i think with some added elements you can have a real nice image though. you have some real good stuff to start with like the stereo, books, and great artwork. i think as you just add some more common things that show occupancy, it will finish the job. maybe throw in a "half full" glass of water, or a fruit basket on the table to add an interesting foreground. and some stuff on the coffee table. it just looks a little empty. keep posting wips though. like i said before, i think your lighting is great on the second image. good luck
