camby
I just got my system back from the shop(new mboard, new ram, new vcard, new processor)...pretty much new everything minus network card. We are on Windows Nt 4 and I was going to power things up and connect to the network. However, the computer will not join our domain and I keep getting this error, "DHCP failed to obtain a lease for the card...semaphore timeout period has expired" I have tried to release and renew but still the same problem. I was wondering if anyone knows a way around this...Thanks!

Greg Hess
Camby, I stopped supporting nt4 about 3 years ago . Sounds like your ethernet settings were completely wiped out though...either that or the network card isn't properly installed. Maybe now's a good time to just wipe the drive and start fresh with win2k?
camby
Thanks guys for the ideas. The office is planning to upgrade, but it's a few more computers than the one that just came back so I will have to wait until then. Problem is fixed!! Turns out the shop rigged up the wrong adapter so all needed to do was uninstall and replace. I got Max up and running, so now it's time to test out my new vcard (nvidia quad 980)
