luft
Nice texturing, but not sure if it's very interesting.
Eric
Looking good! Your texture maps look like they're too low of a resolution. You might find higher quality images as your current images seem a bit pixelated. Your mapping for the window sill in the upper left seems off - the image map is stretched. You might try to apply some depth of field blurring in the foreground to minimize the necessary detail in the image map. On a final note, as the previous post said, it seems like it's lacking some visual interest. Study images of old alleys on the web and get some ideas of what can be added to enhance the level of detail. Otherwise, looking good. Perhaps you should try moving the camera forward to see more of the stairs and windows above, and less of the shadows. You can still stand in the shadows and see the shadows creeping into the right side and bottom of the image, but maybe lessen it a bit. Maybe model in some cracks in the wall and trim? Woody
Nice Image, I think you need to desaturate the image a little, Possible get rid of the plant and replace it with something you would see in an old ally, like a bike. Mark.
Tommy L
If this was in the UK you'd need a shopping trolley, a big issue seller and a chav.
IC
If this was in the UK you'd need a shopping trolley, a big issue seller and a chav. Sad but true. You might have to define 'chav' for the non-uk guys though.
STRAT
unfortunately this isn't my cup of tea. it's a complete texturing excersize, which, to me, looks like it's fresh out of a game. there's a fellow who's a regular in the cgtalk galleries that does work like this (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=123553 ) and people rave about it. ok, nice job at texturing, but as i say, imo it doesn't do anything for me

I am a fan of this kind of work but it has to be really top notch to merit any praise and there are such high standards set by people like Juan Siquier, it's a tough number to pull off. The point people always make is why copy something that already exists unless you can make it look better than reality. It must have beauty and that usually comes from the lighting, which, in your image is nice but that's all really.

luft
Whether this image is real or a 3d modelling excercise, as an image (if that's what we are asked to comment on) it's just not very interesting.
hidr
Very nice render, though it seems like a painting to me. With so many textures there are not many things a program can do. Surely its great.
Brian Cassil
I love it! I think all of us archies could stand to learn to do this type of mapping, even if we don't use it just like this in our work. I believe almost everyone would agree that most arch-renders look too clean.
STRAT
I believe almost everyone would agree that most arch-renders look too clean. completely agree. but this example looks too textured to the point of making a lighting rig almost irrelevant. a nice mixture in the middle is whats needed.
