3dfreelancer
Dear fellow users I want to do the following: I have 12 photos of a 3d object (photographed at 30 degrees increments rotation around the vertical axis) I want to map these on to 12 planes and restrict their visibility to their corresponding photographed angles so that at any time the camera can only see one of the maps/planes. Does anyone have some ideas? Kind regards Michael Nielsen
Ricardo Eloy
That's exactly what RPC does. In fact, you can go to their website and download the RPCCreator, which is a very easy-to-use tool that allows you to create your own RPCs. And it's free. 3dfreelancer
Thanks for your tips! I had not enough time to deadline so I could not order RPC. Each plane was animated with two possible bitmaps. So I could not use the free version. I ended up animating one plane along a path with a camera lookat constraint and then the snapshot tool to make copies along the path and then manually mapping each one of them. Phew. Still, it must be possible (via maxscript?) to set the visibility of an object according to the angle between the normal and a camera in the scene. I will post again if I ever find a way.
