3dfreelancer
Hi Randy I dont use Viz myself, but I guess it uses 35 mm film size for the focal length input. Is that all the info in the exif? To convert to 35 mm equivalent you need to know the physical size of the sensor. Show the full exif - sometimes the sensor size is actually included or post what specific camera you have. Kind regards 3dfreelancer
jasonluckett
hi vizwhiz, unfortunately all camera manufacturers use slightly different lens conversions (standard to digital), check out http://www.dcviews.com/lenses/digital-SLR-lenses.htm for a possible conversion rate for your camera from your EXIF setting (note only some cameras are shown here), again note the newer slightly higher end models like the nikon d70 & 80 will tell you under the EXIF settings (under Adobe Bridge if you have it) their equivalent film camera lens setting in a standard 35mm film. Either do this or check out the cameras manufacturer's website for info. like the lens range and equate it to the film equivalent. So simply put i had a photo recently taken with canon eos 300 and gave me 22mm focal length which upon checking the above website returned a multiply factor of 1.586, so 22x1.586=35mm lens. Hope this is a little help, painful i know but as yet the only way i know! Jason
