jackb602
Cesar, Right now the 1.6 GHz G5 and the dual 1.25GHz G4 get roughly the same Cinebench score. But if you wait a month or so (maybe less) Apple will release faster G5s, so you'll get more speed for your money. If you can afford a dual G5, it will obviously make a huge difference in rendering speed, which is probably the most processor intensive work you do. Greg Hess
Cesar, If a 1.6 G5 gets about the same score as a Dual 1.25 G4...I'd get the G5. 1) Looks cooler. 2) Faster in single threaded operations. (Way faster) 3) Er um..Its a mac! STOP! Greg what are you doing! Stop recommending a mac! 4) If you can wait, as jack mentioned, faster processors will come out, dropping the price of the 1.6, or making the dual 1.8's affordable. I'm always for buying newer tech is the price is similar to old tech...its just smart buying .

Greg Hess
Then I'd go for the single G5 .

Cesar R
Hi guys I wanted to share with you my new baby !!! It the single 1.6GHz model, but it is pretty quick. I would say it is just as fast as my dual athlon 1.6. I have dowloaded C4D and I am playing with the demo. It seems hard to use comparedto MAX, or maybe I just need to get used to it. I will be posting for her on that if you dont mind in the next few days. Thanks for the help and support !
