diegofer_9
Hi, I've used vray only for a few months so I am no expert, but one thing that I do notice is that your environment is black, so that wont help a lot with the lighting of the scene, I would use either a light blue or a white color. Also, I see that your second bounce is photon map. When using photon maps the trick is to use it for both bounces and then save that map and re-use it but chenging the first bounce to irradiance. Is a little hard to explain but here is a good tutorial: http://www.evermotion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1826&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 However, I find that using light cache instead of photon gives you faster results. There is also a good tutorial here: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRayHelp150beta/tutorials_interior.htm Good luck

diegofer_9
but doesnt it matter that he has a black color in the environment? I know that vray is supposed to override this, but I thought that you had to change the max environment anyway, no? I might be wrong.
Sawyer
Go to LC for second bounce and set it to like 300 see what is looks like. Photon map takes tiime.
chodney
To speed up the render..... under Irradiance Map, put the Hemispheric subdivision down. Try like 8 for test renders. Also, set the Irradiance Map preset to low for test renders Color bleed, I've just learned, can be reduced under the GI rollout. There is a saturation spinner, defaulted to 1.0. To reduce color bleed, make it 0.6 or lower. That wood floor is really saturated, I'd turn down the RGB output on the bitmap.

manta
you're using 30 bounces in your photon map, maybe that is kind of excessve...
Christopher Nichols
you're using 30 bounces in your photon map, maybe that is kind of excessve... Not for photon mapping in Vray... very little difference between 5 and 30 bounces.
