after5
Having problems opening files that have been exported from ArchiCAD 9.0 using the Maxon ArchiCAD Exchange Plug-In. Cinema 4D will crash at about 70-80% progress reading the file in. Seems to have a direct relationship with the compexity of the model. Some of files that are exported from ArchiCAD range from 50mb to 150mb in the .ac4d format. If I have the architects trim out a lot of the interior systems and and any multi-duplicate objects (doors, handles, light fixtures, etc.) and shoot for a .ac4d file size of 5-15mb I can usually get them into Cinema 4D. 99% of our buildings are commercial (schools, hospitals, office buildings, arts) and tend to be complex. Our goal is to have a complete 3D model exported from ArchiCAD with interior/exterior components to be able to animate/render in Cinema 4D. Seems we have to trim/crop/delete/section a complete ArchiCAD model each time for Cinema 4D to accept it.
