House from Zakopane /max+MR

Hi.

 

This is a first time when I use MentalRay. I hope that you like it.

I don't use MR myself.. but it looks a bit "cartoon"

 

There is no real depth to it, that Radiosity would produce. Also the foliage is too regular.

 

The edges of the roof are very crisp as well.

 

But well done for getting something from MR.. I have never used it myself, but just taken on board Vray, free version, and have found it impressive.

 

Have you thought about using radiosity?

Zakopane is beautiful.. went there on vacation a couple of years ago.

Definitely missing something, the lighting isn't there yet and the materials would benefit from a bit of displacement, the grass needs some work as well as the small plants and the windows need some reflecting.

 

But don't give up on mr. It's got a lot of learning curve, but I think it's a lot better than radiosity/scanline and it's just as capable as any of the other ones out there.

 

What software are you using?

How about changing the color of pickup truck, it draws an eye too much.

definitely, that's not what you would want people to concentrate on, would you?

 

Have you thought of using V-ray, perhaps you could get a better resoults?

It's coming along very well I think. I like it better without the red flowers, they're not very realistic. My immediate comments would be that the vertical corners of the stone parts are too straight considering how rough the stone is, and I agree with Darius on the truck.
