AJLynn
Any VRay + Max7.5 Hair&Fur users out there? I've been experimenting and it seems to be doing the hair in a second pass that is not rendered by VRay, the hair has its own shadow engine and it doesn't get involved in GI. Is there a workaround to make hair work better with VRay (and presumably anything else besides scanline and maybe mental ray) that does not involve converting the hair to geometry? tuekappel
Yes.... what you gotta do, is select your light source, go to the Rendering/Effects/HairFur dialog, scroll to the bottom, and the option "add hair properties" won't be greyed out anymore. you click, and thereby adds the light source to the Hair and Fur rendering engine. Now you'll have added "Hair Light Attr" to the parameters of your light, be sure "Light hair" is checkmarked. Fool around with resolution and fuzz. Enjoy! AJLynn
That didn't do it, but it put me in the right direction - same window, change render option to geometry (but it makes VRay slow, so I'll be using it sparingly).
