Sebree
I am trying to create a glass panel that is reflective and transparent. I am using a raytraced material, but can't figure out how to stop it from casting a shadow. I select the object and go to properties, but the selection for casting shadows is selected and greyed out. I'm using VIZ R4, any suggestions
Guest Raytrace Man
You don't want it to cast a shadow At ALL? Don't know about Viz, but I'll tell you in Max, select the light, and in the control panel select 'exclude' and either exclude the object either with shadow casting, or illumination, or both. Here, you choose shadowcasting. Don't know if that helps.... Now crit my damn Brazil post.... LOL
ham
In vis 4 you have to uncheck the by layer button in object properties before you can turn off shadowcasting. But try using raytraced shadows rather than shadow mapped ones, the light will pass through the window and cast a tinted shadow.
