PJ
Hi all, Really don't know what i'm doing wrong... kind of hope it's me being stupid 'cause then it easy to sort!! I've been given an ACAD drawing all in mm's. In max, display units are set to mm's and the system units are mm's. So how come when I import the ACAD drawing does my 250mm deep wall measure 224mm in max and the 275mm thick wall measures 256 in max? I've not had this problem before so i'm hoping i've just missed something. If i draw a square in ACAD and save as a new drawing it's fine... what am i missing? Thanks in advance Phil
JamesTaylor
have you tried taking the acad file into a new file or saving as a new name, sometimes works / worth a try. is you acad geometry located at 0,0,0 in AutoCad? the further away from the origin it is the less acuurate it is in max. not too sure how bigga effect this can have. PJ
You're a good man... The drawing was miles away from 0,0,0 now it's not and all is ok. should have asked this morning instead of faffing about all day. Thanks Phil
JamesTaylor
you'll also find that panning and rotating around the model works better in max when the geometry is at 0,0,0 in CAD. glad to be of help! James
