vizfx
Hi, I’m looking for an easy to use free 3D engine, with capabilities to combine 2D and 3D interactive environments, if possible with an intuitive interface and with sets of behaviors (less programming). martincg
hi vizfx, there is a list almost all of 3d engines http://www.devmaster.net/engines/ my opinion: free: 3d Blender - plus:free, direct compiler to exe, no program skills need, some good temp scene on web, - minus: painful user interface, basic materials for realtime, on 3d engine /not 3d Blender/ is working just one person so almost no news Kaneva - video tutorials, no program skills, /server - client/ Reality Factory - i did not try this one but check it good: for Mac OS is very good engine Unity /also compiler to windows .exe, web support, new Direct X 9 shaders, built in editor, relative easy/ easy for using: /comercials/ DX studio - standalone, web support /no present DX 9 support/ TurnTool good support for internet/max plugin/ /no present DX 9 support/ RTRE /max plugin/ - no web features /no present DX 9 support/ others comercials: QUEST VIRTOOL Vertice Subdo
Richard McCarthy
martin you beat me to it Also I could recommend VRML,... which you could goto the following link to check it out : http://www.parallelgraphics.com Currently, if you want a "FREE" 3d engine, you are most likely to either learn to program the script or you have to learn to COMPILE the program. There is also the COMPLETELY FREE (REAL) 3D engine.. http://www.ogre3d.org/ But you need to learn how to compile it.. LOL
