Atom
Hello, I have here what can be a cool rendering if done right, its a model of an entrance to some custom homes, theres water falls with infinity or some say disappering edges of water. I'm having a horrible time rendering the water. I'm using mental ray and 3d max 7. 1 skylight 1 mr spotlight FG 100 samples Water material is Raytrace see settings images. I tried using mental ray lume and also some bitmaps with bumpmapping but looked cheesy. With my raytrace settings I have the transparency set to a yellowish color, when i put it to blue the water renders red, don't know why? my rock wall material also needs some bumpmapping and displacement. Anyone have any tips like for the settings or lights or GI maybe HDRI or if you'd like a shot at it I can email the file. Thanks for any help. Ricardo Eloy
Not really familiar to MR, but my guess is that your noise map is too big. Try a stronger, smaller map size to make the bump show. That will probably help.
Atom
heres an update i still want to take it in photoshop and add a sky and do some clean up witht the foliage.
