Tim Saunders
this problem has happened a few times to me. it always happens when i get a lot of rpc content in my scene. usually what i do is delete them and put in fewer rpc's. but on a parking structure, i would like to see it full. anyone know what causes this? i'm using vray free. Sirkus
hey tim, am not sure if vray free has a vray window. i encounter those circle things also but with the materials i use. what i do is look in the vray window what returns first as overbright then i either change the material or delete it. my problem with rpc especially the people is the reflections in mirrors. they have the wrong reflection. for example, if my rpc is turning its back on the mirror, what it reflects is its front. then when i turn on the cast reflections, it shows the right reflection on the upper half of the body but the wrong reflection on the bottom half. i used vray mat with reflect at white and refract on black with no vraymap. so i hope anyone has the solution to this problem. kippu
there are couple of things i will do a) remove cast reflections for the rpcs b) try not working in camera space ... its in vray system rollout .... dont know abt vray free hope that works
Tim Saunders
not sure what you mean by camera space.
3dp
yeah i'd second that about reflections being switched off i use renderdrives and they really do not like the rpc to reflect also there does seem to be a point with the cars where it takes forever to calculate the meshes (say over 10-15 cars and for animation it takes longer to laod the frame than render it)
Chad Warner
With Vray pro, theres a check box in the system rollout that says "use max camera space" or something to that effect. If it is checked, sometimes you'll get blips like this.
jarrek
It happens to me as well from time to time, when there is a lot of rpc and machine is running out of RAM. The way I manage to keep all the RPCs and render the scene is to render it in passes, let's say 30 RPC at 1 pass ( everythin else is matte mat. ) and composite it together later. Tim Saunders
good idea. what's the easiest way you get the matte material off and on everything? do you just have a seperate scene that is an exact copy of the original, or do you apply the material, and after it renders hit undo? or niether? it just seams like a pain to go back an re-apply everything to the whole scene after the matte has been applied.
