z
Does Viz have any advantage over Max in terms of integration with AutoCAD 2005 or ADT? Would Max be just as capable of coordinating with architectural drawings (Autocad, ADT) only adding more animation options? Thanks in advance! Sincerely, David
lambros
I have used both, but I bought Viz. Mostly because it comes 2000€ cheaper in Greece, and frankly, I do not need subobject animation, reactor, bipeds and particles for arch viz in general. One could find use for these in our biz, really, but one could do without, and produce top quality work. On what regards autocad integration, it seems that max will always get what viz has on that subject, so that is not really an issue.
William Alexander
For the majority of work in archviz and architecture...viz was created/packaged for it. -ViZ is less expensive -The "non" arch tools in max can be very labor intensive to learn and use for just creating illustrations and animations of the archviz nature. You'll spend months learning and only use the aditional tools in Max once in a while..typically. ..if you like to tinker and have other aspirations beyond archviz...max 'may' be worth it WDA
Sawyer
I bought max mostly on the rumors that viz was going to be dropped. I still hear those rumors but 5 years later both are here.
DennisHolland
Yes Sawyer, I hear the same rumours over and over and are all in conflict with eachother. The word goes out that Viz 2006 is really the last build, I've heard that 'they' (Autodesk) still don't know what to do next time and then something about having it not standalone anymore but integrate it in a popular cad-program in order to push Max' sales. Anyways, I bought Max, never used anything that is not in Viz. Particles in Max are the worst, sub-object anims are not really needed in Arch-viz and I even don't know how to work with characterstudio....Why Max? I really don't know, maybe because new features are always integrated earlier in Max...ot just because it's 'Max'. For only Arch-viz I'd say go with Viz 2006... only3d
In terms of modeling, rendering, and especially work-flow w AUTOCAD there is simply no difference what so ever. all the pluses of MAX were pointed here already, and i also doubt how often will u need these features.. in short- save your money for more useful things like VRAY or other very useful plug-ins and add-ons. good luck!
