Jeff Mottle
While normally I would not be posting links to those $59 landscape packages you can pick up at the stationary store, I thought a lot of people would be interested to see how far things have come. So much so I even posted this on the front page news tonight http://www.cgarchitect.com/news/newsfeed.asp?nid=2907 While you are not going to be charging your clients $3000 for an image created from this package, for the price, I have to admit I've seen worse work from a $4000 3D software package. And it does not seem that long ago that even getting results this good was something only the best could do. (well maybe that was 10 years ago, but it is interesting none the less.) DennisHolland
You're right Jeff, For a price like that that quality is fantastic, looking at the few examples in their gallery, and also am sure that quality can be highly improved by a viz-specialist. I know for sure that a package like that, in combination with some good viz-skills, can be used in high end visualization already. In my opinion landscaping like this can be done as good in any 3D package, but the easyness of use is very timefriendly so let's give it a try. Can't get into any probs on a $ 59 pack.... STRAT
yup, looks pretty funky for that price. it's worth considering even as a resource to export things out into your regular package (it you can do that that is)
DennisHolland
If not by default, someone will write a script for it before you know it....
oluv
i am going to order it tonight let's see what can be done with it. some import/export would be cool, so one could apply a bit of lightmapping to add even more realizm.
Trick
No export because of 3rd party licensing of textures and models. So even a script would violate the EULA
Tim Saunders
if nothing else it could deffinately be a good template for some npr work in ps.
