nvda
Hello, Im an architecture student and new to all this 3d visualisation stuff, i was wondering if somebody could help me out here. I have done various splines in autocad which twist and turn 3-dimensionally. (its like a jellyfish tentacles effect). I thought i could extrude a circle along the spline to give it thickness but no - go. I was wondering what was the easiest process to go through to give thickness to these splines and render them in 3DS? I don't mind starting again in Max if i need to? Any help would be greatly appreciated... (I've got a crit coming up on wednesday, and i didn't realise how difficult it would be to achieve what im after). Thanks
Chad Warner
Try using the renderable spline modifier on them. If all you want is thickness, that's the way to go.
kippu
import the spline into 3dsmax and make it renderable and you can give what ever thickness you want

Tommy L
create a circle and loft it along the lines. You will have more control this way.
