hothands456
Hey everyone. I have been reading posts and reviewing works in progress over several months now. I really enjoy this forum. Here is my model of a sustainable house project. This house will be built within next year. I am currently working with an architect on creating his house. I have modeled and textured everything, will apply some bump mapping and am xperimenting with lighting. At this time I havent render using GI because the RCP's are being evaluated by a specialty lightning consultant. Any critiques and comments will be appreciated. Thanks, Alex

wilky9
Your chairs are floating above the floor. I don't see any interior shadows. Neat building.
hothands456
cyberachi, Basically, this sustainable house will be built using recyclable materials and nothing that is harmful to the earth. i.e. , utilizing rainwater collection, solar water heating, and photovoltaic panels. All aspects in the design and construction all built around natural concepts and materials. aka "Green Design"
Brian Cassil
Do you have any goals for the level of leed certification?
mbr
ah ha ha! I looked at RCP and thought you were talking about RPC's! Funny. Looks fine, but it's the lighting that will determine everything. Not sure about the art work. House is an odd design... Where will the photovoltaic's be? Do you know if this will be free of grid energy?
hothands456
I will leave the leed certification up to the architect. However, leed is becoming more acknowledged in the architectural industry which in the long run makes for a better environment. I am a 3d artist but learning about the architectural advancements that are taking place in construction is interesting.
hothands456
Hi mbr, The photovoltaic panels will be placed on the curve of the roof to consume power throughout the day. These panels aren't advanced enough to be free of grid energy. It can only handle approximately 15- 20%. With additional windmills and panels together, there is a possibility to be free of grid energy. However, from what I understand, the drawback is that there are zoning requirements for installments of windmills. The area for this house cannot accomodate that. What is interesting is that there are now solar fabric material that will alleviate the mass of the regular panels currently being used. RCP/RPC comment funny.
