The Trickster
Hi All, A quick V-ray question if you please. When doing external renderings do peeps tend to use V-ray lights or max lights or a mixture of both?? Or does it not matter? Cheers!
Arnold Sher
standard directional light that comes with max with vray shadow on.. Do not forget to switch environment on in vray rendering menu and take the tick off default light.. hope that helps
The Trickster
Thanks Arnold, This is my first exterior with V-ray. I have built this model in cad. Do you have any more hints and tips for external settings? I will posr my progress as i go along. Thankyou. http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/5358/test1zx.jpg
gfa2
Looks like the colors are from CAD. Once you put some textures on there, it should tone it down a lot. I'm with Arnold, I use a max directional light with vray shadows. Chris Nichols used a vray light on his DVD for his outside scene, but I haven't tried that yet. Jeff Mottle
Might want to take a peek at your exposure control as well. Seems a bit blown out. Could also be the value of your direct light though.
anvaraziz
turn off default lights from v-ray global settings,
The Trickster
Thanks guys, Exposure control was not on i think the burn was coming from my direct light. I have applied a few materials and its coming along. Hope you like. Can anyone tell me what the Frame buffer and irradiance map are for? My enviroment light is 1.0 and my direct is 0.5 using vray shadows and adaptive subdivision. Thankyou for your imput! It is appreciated. http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/2408/test016dr.jpg
