Ismael
The tiles look fine. Seems that there may be an issue with the "type" of reflections you used on them. Maybe you have some some drop-dead fallof in the reflection channel or there may be too much "light" on the geometry area not showing reflections. Incident light on a reflective surface will eventually kill the reflections when it becomes greater than the "light" on the object being reflected. Oh, and it could be something else. Do post what it was when you find it. Ismael
carlangas
hi ismael, i dont think its a reflection problem since in other parts of the model you can see the dark parts form a pattern. im using vray with .75 blurred reflection, no fresnel or falloff. Gander0
Do you still get different shades with the tiles isolated?
Ismael
One more idea: If it is a Vray material, check the "Options" tab. Default "Cutoff" should be 0.01, and if too large it may be a cause. If a VrayMap in in the reflection slot of a Standard Mat, there the standard Cutoff Threshold should be 0.1 Just maybe that is it. Good luck, Ismael P.S. You would not have a Direct Light set to not cast shadows in the scene? Just one more thought...
carlangas
nope, that wasnt it. Im out of time so I'll just use some tile textures that are similar. but if any have any other ideas thats great as I'd still like to know whats causing this.
