Guest sachinwalvekar
hi, I am trying to learn GI & have posted two images one rendered in 3dsmax using directional light only & another using skylight only. This is a still image rendering project & will be adding some more foliage in photoshop. In the skylight only I find that the water tanks on top of the bldg r looking very flat compared to the image rendered using directional light. Is this ok ? I tried using the daylight but not sure about the multiplier I need to keep for skylight & directional light to be able to get soft shadows and hard ones. Please critique & comment on the GI image & if advice me on its improvement. Also am I thinking correctly ? regards, sachin.
ecastillor
IMHO, I think the best way to simulate reallity, is using both GI and a direct light or sun....
Guest sachinwalvekar
Thanks for spending ur valuable time. I appriciate it very much. I tried using daylight which combines skylight(GI) and directlight but in 3dsmax I am not sure of the light multiplier values .....increasing one decreases drastically the effect of other so I am looking forward to some advice on this.
