Richard McCarthy
Aliencodec is now been acquired by TheGameCreator, and they are fulfilling the orders now(after almost 3 months of waiting, but in NO PART Gamecreator's fault - The PREVIOUS OWNER (Ronald Smith) is to blame for all the wrong doings) All the controversy is now resolved! The software is worth checking out, See my mini-review/impression here : http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showpost.php?p=101007&postcount=114 Now, where is my swimming togs.... going to hawaii after all
DennisHolland
It's an outrage! Must say that this is a good way to end up a sad, poor business. Let's say a couple of thousand people bought the stuff x $ 50? Dennis

chuck
i dowloaded the demo, but it doesn't allow you to export anything. they look pretty good for low poly though in the view port...and it's nice to be able to edit what you want. i think i'm going to take a chance. early christmas? chuck
Andrew Schroeder
Well, if you manage to render a still, share it here. I'm getting tired of the plants we're working with, looking for a better solution too....
oluv
the plant generators from aliencodec are perfect for realtime interactive visualisations. i haven't tried them for usual renderings yet, but for realtime-work they work really well. you can put dozens of optimized trees in your scenes without problems. there is lots of potential when using own leaf-textures (prerendered in other packages or taken from digital photographs) and experimenting a bit with the settings. i attached some examples i did with the old treemagik version G2. i wanted to have a bit more abstract and "bushy" look without showing too much details. Aaron2004
About how many polys are these? Are we talking 30? 100?
Aaron2004
I just downloaded the Demo...I guess for 50 bucks, you can't really lose. I'm worried about how these trees/plants will look up against a light mapped home though....does anybody have any experience with things like this in a real-time environment? Does it make the scene look really amaturish? Aaron
DennisHolland
Well, i can't tell you. It's pretty quiet down there. Paid yesterday and still recieved nothing at all, not even a confirmation. Must say their financial dept. is not real fast.... I guess it must be somewhat busy Dennis

Sawyer
I looked over many old forum posts and it seems that there are often DL problems. It does seem that at least a few people have the software. I am glad I got the $40 ripoff price not the $200.
Richard McCarthy
I think this guy is just slow with his processing , probably upto a few weeks slow (after reading the old forum post on aliencodec)....... Be patient guys, I am sure he won't jack us here ..... I hope.......
