The Trickster
Hi, Can anyone help me out with creating a good and realistic copper cladding finish ? I have created a couple of materials using reflection, bump, and tile with maps and reflections inside the raytracer and its come out ok but im looking for something better with more realism. http://img499.imageshack.us/img499/3896/test02620x4371oz.jpg Thanks to anyone who can help with this! Tim Saunders
i did one once that i was pretty happy with. i used a standard material. i loaded a mix in the diffuse slot. in the top mix slot i loaded the attached map. then i mixed in a little bit of a goldish color. then i cranked the specular value up to like 75-85 and left the glossiness at 10. thats it. renders fast and looks good too. gove the object some uvw mapping so you get the variation in the map the size you want of coarse.
