IC
This is, I think, my first proper WIP. I always get useful comments too late to be useful so this is a very early post and I plan to keep updating. My trouble here is showing the existing features and unusual height without using too wide an angle lens. I'm still modelling but this image was to try and give a feeling of the space to our Sales Team.
IC
Some more quick views to give an idea of the space............
STRAT
excellent stuff, but as yesterday, i think a) the outside image is way over bright, and b) the light streaming in is way too bright too. those specular blooms are blinding m8
IC
Thanks Strat. I'll watch out for that. Bit of a bad habit I have!

Jason Matthews
I'd live there. I like the space a lot. If there is anything interesting to show on the bottom level I would try to get a view from the corner of the second level looking past the handrail to the far corner. You may need like a 70-80 deg. angle on the lens but it might give you the ceiling in the shot. Maybe the shot you are looking for is at the top of the stairs. Nice work. Please keep us posted. IC
Thanks Jason. That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. I'm trying a view from the top of the stair just now. Craig-Seems like that's what you've been looking to do so great news. Well done mate! Who are you going to work for?
Craig Ramsay
I'm moving over to Toronto to join Moshenko and the rest of the Designstor team (http://www.designstor.com). Really looking forward to it!
IC
Modelling done now. Same light set up (which I will work on next) but I've been trying to refine my viewpoint. Suggestions welcome....
Jason Matthews
Very nice. I like the view from the second level but I think the handrail blocks a lot of the image. Maybe move the view closer to the edge so that the handrail is in the right middle quadrant. The second view is my fav. Great reflection in the lamp. Three things though. One the reflection on the cabinets is too strong. Secomd there is some kind of strange shadow or reflection thing happening above the range. And third imho I would look at a slightly wider camera angle or pull the camera back some more. I am curious as to what happens to the right. Looks great. P Zero
Looking good. Are those furniture models from evermotion?
otacon
Looking nice. Try lowering the refraction on the glass railing, and add a few handles to the doors. I'd crit more but i've been staring at renders all day and my eyes are tired.
alfienoakes
Really nice looking now.. Materials make ALL the difference.. I'll wager the furnitures from e-interiors..? What software is that.. Vray and Max?? Andy
IC
Thanks. Not much of an update-just playing with lights and materials. Currently putting the stronger shadows back in. Just about done I think. The models are a combination of my own, e-interiors and Zuliban's free Le Corbusier chair. All done in LightWave with FPrime. Tim Saunders
these are killer iain. i agree on the refraction being a little strong on the upstairs rail glass. that's my only crit though. excellent work.
DAN212222
can i ask where i would find the corbusier chair? had a quick spy round the net and am struglling to find it.. anyhow yeah ian these images are lovely... your work is very impressive
Jason Matthews
Thats the image that I'm talking about. It gives us full perception of the space and the contrast is right on the money. One last thing and it is perfect; reduce the reflection on the doors to the right and you are looking at perfection. Awesome work.
IC
Thanks. They've been well received as a lot of people couldn't understand the space from plan. Dan, I can't remember where the chair was posted, probably Evermotion. It's worth searching though-it's a great model.
mohamedberry
fantastic work, fantastic WIP... i love your materials man, they are just fantastic. one thing though, i think the final image is kinda burned out at the top left corner, you lost all your strong shadows and i thinks thats the cause. great images
