Mental Ray & Hair

I'm having a problem w/Max 8 crashing whenever I try to render Hair & Fur applied to an object using Mental Ray as the renderer. I've tried changing the Render>Effects>Hair & Fur from Buffer to Geometry or MR Primitive and get the same result. I created the most simplistic scene of a MR spot light, and a plane with the Hair & Fur modifier applied. Using scanline renderer works fine, btw.

Can anyone duplicate this problem? Maybe someone can make a simple scene as described above, can you render it, prove it works fine, and send it to me in case I'm missing something?

Thanks,

Quique

4 days and no respones. Can someone please take 2 minutes out of his/her busy schedule to try and replicate the problem stated above? Or even just confirm from experience that the setup described above works fine?

Thanks,

Quique
