spyder2411
Can someone explain what is happening with the lighting? I'm getting these white balls all over the place.
njoco2
Make sure that all materials on your scene are Vray materials. I used to get those bright spots every time I used Vray and default max materials. I`m using Vray 1.09. Cheers
JamesTaylor
vray doesn't seem to like some of the standard max maps, such raytrace. you can still use standard materials but you'll have to hunt down the offending map by turning materials off until you can render without the issue
d.sign
It looks like you turned on the show samples option... Or you use some of the materials that can cause problems...

spyder2411
After a few tests, it appears that anything with a reflection tends to give me the "blobs" and I'll just end up putting them in post. Pretty sad considering stainless steel materials generally have somewhat of a distorted reflection.
David Knourek
As posted above, V-Ray does work with standard amx materials but does not work with max's raytrace material. What version of V-Ray are you running? -dave
spyder2411
Currently using the free demo until I can get a couple projects to cover the costs of the the full version.
Christopher Nichols
Therefore don't use the 3ds raytrace material but the vraymap material under the reflection slot.
