max Interoperability

Hi Guys

 

While since I posted in this area but anyway, does any one have any experience with interoperability between Viz 2006 and Max 8?

 

I am involved with a project where I am taking base geometry from ArchiCAD and AutoCAD. I will be modeling the specific building in Revit 8.1, the site in AutoCAD 2006 and have the choice of Viz 2006 or/and Max 8 to combine and manage the models and produce the renderings. I have more experience in Viz but have access to parts modeled in Max 6.

There is a preset in max 8 for linking Revit files and it seems to work. I've had more luck linking Revit files in max 8 versus max 7. Not sure about VIZ 2006, but I would guess that it has the same preset. You shouldn't have any problems linking AutoCAD files...not sure about ArchiCAD though. You can pull your max 6 parts into either max 8 or VIZ 2006. Just use the merge command under the file pulldown.
