EricMLevy
I'm building this scene for a freelance job. What do you think? Oh, done in Max 6, VRayFree.
Msamir
The tree and the light post behind the disabled sign have no shadows and i aslo think its a bit dark.
mskin
nice model. i agree its too dark. i like the flowers, rail detail, bollards etc... nice detail. why are the bushes at the building out of focus while the building, at the same sistance away is crisp? nice grass. EricMLevy
Thanks for the responses. I will sharpen those bushes up, you're right, they're too blurry. I think the image blurs by default in max. The tree and bollard-- i was wondering what those were called-- do have shadows, but I covered them up by mistake, with my grass layer. I must have to calibrate my monitor since you both think it is too dark. Thanks for the help. I'll post a final render when it's all said and done. kankan
It is very dark; your wheelchair user won't be able to go far with those steps infront of the office: you are going to need a ramp too. I like the architecture. Kamran
EricMLevy
That decision is up to the architectural firm. I'm just working from their drawings.
IUI Design
Hi, nice Rendering, but I agree with the others...it's a wee bity dark! I was wandering how you got the reflection on the glass....Any chance of a Tutorial (3DS Max). Thanks, Ifty
hidr
You should use a sky with less clouds at the glass reflection, such as the one you are using to the background. If your reflection be brighter I think it will be better.

EricMLevy
Someone asked about the glass: VrayFree. Blinn shader, no spec level, no gloss. 25% opacity Very dark blue, almost black. Vraymap in the reflection slot, reflecting almost 100% An image that I modified based off of MEADOW.jpg that comes with Max, in the Environment Map (press 8 when you're in Max). The geometry was very simple. A plane, the edges had a less reflective, more opaque version of the same shader to fake that line between each pane of glass. EricMLevy
download the max file and look at the shaders and set up. it's really simple, i didn't think I had to explain it much, since I'm giving the files away for it.
