I replied saying I'd like to now more - your location, phone, what services are needed for the job...etc.

I get the exact same email in reply.

This morning I check my email again and here is that exact same email only it's from john@doe.com, the first two where from something@msn.com

Is this some sort of scam and also has anyone else received emails from this person? I'm going to have to take off my email publicly from all the forums I frequent because of this. I get enough joke / spam mail as it is.

why do people have to bother like this though....

erased and put on my blocked senders list.

btw - here is a way to keep your block list when formatting windows (I found this is the best way to fight spam for me - Spam Inspector does the same thing - it creates a blocked list):

Hi,

Awful these kind of mails. I hate that stuff.

A few months ago, I also received a proposal from someone called Sergio Panigo to make some images/renders. I doubted the job a lot at first because who would want to outsource to an unknown belgian company anyway?

After a lot of mails that gave good confidence and effort from the guy, I eventually made up a price proposal...

Never heard from the guy afterwards, not a single email, whereas we had mailed a few times a day for almost a week. Imho it must have been a competitor who was after our way of making offers, setting prices, etc.

Anyone else received mails from this guy: Sergio Panigo, working at EAD, a very known firm in Argentinia...? Of course they don't have a webpage yet: it's under construction! *yeah right*

I've gotten these kinds of emails a few times and did the same thing - asked for more info and eventually submitted a proposal, never to hear from them again.

I wasn't surprised, though, as not many foreign countries will pay for US services.

It's always an incovenience, but it's part of the game.

well, normally we DON'T do these proposals as most emailers don't supply us the info we ask initially. We ask this info to check how real the price offer is. Only after receiving a believable first answer we start questioning if it's a real job at all.

Who else had similair stories? What to do about it?
