Tonsgaard
Hi guys... I've got a 3d site model. However, I need to create a classic 2d vector drawing fro a presentation and are using the original 2d-drawing I used as a base for creating the 3d-one.. THing is: I'd like some hatches representing building shadows. Is there any easy way to place a light source and generate the shadow outlines on a given ground plane?? Not rendering really, just generating the outlines... Anybody?
ecastillor
mmmmmmmm....no idea.... maybe export your model to max, including the camera....the place your sun and render a basic model.....then take that umage and overlap it to the wireframe image and trace the shadow in photoshop.....or just use sketchup! JamesTaylor
if you have a 3D model why are you trying to make a 2d image 3d? you can render out a basic image from AutoCAD, look in the help file for it. alternatively, as already said, take the model into max/viz and render from there. do you really need it to be vector?? if you do you could use swift 3d to render to vector, it'll accept .3ds file, maybe .max not sure about dwg tho. Tonsgaard
well.. I could live with a raster image... But as it is for shadow diagrams (?) it would be great to have it in vector for editing and stuff in Acad.. jat> yeah, swift3d is the only sulution i could find, but I'm not sure if it allows shadow output as vector...
