RAYMOND
does anyone have any experience uploading/downloading dwg max etc files over the internet using a cell phone connection.... or is this even possible.... :D
Jeff Mottle
While I personally have not done it, I've seen it done. Depending upon your carrier it can be reasonably quick. It can also be very expensive if you are sending large files though. GSM is typically the service that you require with a data plan.

Jeff Mottle
Unless you are in port or have a satelite phone, its very unlikely there are any cell towers that you can pick up on the open sea. It would likely be considerably cheaper to use the ships internet connections. I know when I travel overseas and use about 20-30 min of airtime, my bill comes back around $200-400 for the month. Also, data services normally can not roam with you to other countries. Assuming you are out of country.
