mtb0506
'vray free' does not use vray materials, if you are looking to use these materials, try using 'vray demo'. doesn't last forever, but it has full functionality

Ismael
Try this link: http://www.osmosis.com.au/info/downloads.htm They have two material libraries, Precious Stones (glass...) and Metal Kit. Well, the metal kit has a Vray Material in one of the materials and I do not remember if Vray Free will open the rest of the library. Practice with the glass and remove opacity and or refraction and play with it and create others. Ismael In total darkness or in total lightness nobody can see either gold or diamonds, or marshmallows. Clarify--- The Stones library is completely made with Standard materials and VrayMap. The Metal library is also, but for just one material which is solely Vray material.
Tim Saunders
yeah vray free does not have the vray materials;vraymtl, vraylightmtl, or vray mtl wrapper. however someone (juan) mentioned that vray free does not have a material library, but that's not why you get a rendering plugin. you still make your own materials, just using a different root material mixer. with vray free just use standard materials. they do however give you the vraymap that is excelent for reflective materials. i'm using vray advanced now, but i am very satisfied with vray free for use at home. my guess is for a lot of you, getting the hang of vray free will be plenty satisfying for you as well. if you search the forums here for vray free, you will find a load of great work produced with vrayfree. good luck.
