ajvbochove
Hi to you all, I'm wondering if it is possible in 3D studio max 8 tot 'attach' a background image to a Camera in stead of a Viewport. Or is there an other way (picture on plane)? I want to rebuild a 3D scene with the use of multiple photographs. More then there are viewports, if you catch the problem.... Thanks,
dbarc
I presume you want to be able to pan the camera relative to the image? You can apply an image as a bitmap to a plane (making sure the plane has the same proportion as the image) then use the align tool to align it's position and orientation with those of the camera. You then move the plane along it's z axis until it fills precisely the camera's frame.
ajvbochove
I thought something like that. Say: I have to rebuild an interior with the use of several pictures (photographs) The main construction (concrete structure) is measured. I know how to use cameratracker, but with more Camera's then Viewports I need to reassign Background images and reload them. The question is: Is there a tool/ method to use a Camera Background? Ricardo Eloy
Well, you could try to animate your BG. Try a AVI file instead of the regular JPG with all the bgs you want. Then, render your views at different frames (guess it might work).
William Alexander
If the structure is "Measured".....camera match each individual picture/image-creating a camera for it based on simple and accuractly created geometry from the measurements for the interior. The actual individual images then can be used for the materials-textures if you 'camera map' each image to the scene camera created from it. The hardest part can be assigning areas that the camera views overlap, areas with no overlap and the areas that project through the geometry without any camera/image information to map on it. Just like in the Movies WDA
