nvda
hello, i've imported a model from autocad to max8 and the model is of poor quality compared to when it was imported to viz4...when i imported to viz4 i had 6000 vertices, where as in max8 i have 160. what is it i need to do to increase the quality of the max model? thnx http://img244.imageshack.us/my.php?image=viz3bz.jpg http://img329.imageshack.us/my.php?image=max6ef.jpg
vizwhiz
nvda are you importing or file linking? There is a "acis deviation" setting in file-linking in viz default might be 1.0 set This To about 0.1 or even 0.01 This will increase smoothness AND File Size but hey The computer has To do some work at some point This should help smooth Things out i hope This helps Randy
Ray
The same setting is there if you import also (at least in viz) called 'Surface deviation for 3D solids' default is 1.0.
nvda
nice one lads, in viz it was set to 0.1, whereas in max8 it was set to 2.x ... i got another q now lol, i found the tab panel in viz4 very useful however i don't know how to get it up for max8? in viz4 when u r-click on the toolbar space you can turn it on and off, however it doesnt even show up in max?
