Ray
Someone posted a month or two ago complaining about the Real-World Texture Coordinate in Viz (or maybe Max) being on by default. It's also been bugging me lately and I did find where to turn it off, at least in Viz 2006, if anyone else is interested: Customize > Preferences > General tab > uncheck 'Use Real-World Texture Coordinates.' ramy
I had a question related to this topic somewhat....does anyone know how to create an accurate tile of kingsize running bond brick that courses with an accurate building done from AutoCad? There are so many parameters in the Tile material and UVW modifier to change...what is an accurate way to do this? ps: In Max I believe turning "Real-World Map size" is in the mapping parameters for UVW Modifier. AJLynn
Why not use bricks from something like the Acme Brick maker (http://www.acmebrick.com/md/) and go crazy with UVW maps?
Ray
ps: In Max I believe turning "Real-World Map size" is in the mapping parameters for UVW Modifier. Yes, it's there in viz as well (also in the specific map bitmap coordinates section) but you would have to uncheck that each time. I'm talking about having it unchecked by default. ramy
Yes, I'm reviving this post. I saw my old post and am answering my own question for anyone else that has the same about understanding real world uvw. It's amazing what you can learn in a couple years!
