visions
hi, we are having some problems with MAx 7.5 and dual core cpu's 1) Once max opens....and before it hands over control to us there is a 9-12 second wait....... 2) open max and load a file.....work on it or just open another file.......takes forever to load. 3) open max and load a file......reset max...now open the earlier file...opens real fast (no problem) 4) open max...work on a file, normal size with textures and all....now save and close max......Max will take loads of time to close.... all these issues are on dual core amd cpu's only....XP64. no problem on exact same system with single core cpu Asus A8nE / A8nE Sli Premiun / X2 4200 / XP64 / All drivers are the latest available... Thanks in Advance Vivek
wcraig
Make sure you have the latest bios for your motherboard. If you upgraded to a dual core using the same motherboard it wont see the second core.

Tony
I have three xt's and it's the same on all of them, MAX8. But on my XEON 2.8 no such problem. Hopefully MAX will address this in a point release.
alexthg
we got AMD 4200 X2, mobo gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI. Yes, we got about 10 seconds delay when opening 3dsmax from windows XP. But other than that, no problems at all... Harry
tecton3d
...for what it's worth: I have noticed the same delay with my BOXX dual opteron system when opening Max from XP(no64)... especially compared to my 3.2ht p4 laptop which doeson't have the lag when the program loads. The problem with my AMD system seems to stop there, as would be expected, every other task is much faster than my p4 laptop. Doesnt' really bother me too much, but I guess everyone's workflow is different and if you would be opening and closing max, and/or files within, all the time this would be really frustrating!
