upshot
According to the traditional sources it can be done though: material editor > material editor options > 3d map sample scale But, I see no difference in the preview if I raise or lower the value... I've been using a viewport a lot lately to guide clients through early development stages (before the polys start to multiply...) and would like to see a litte higher resolution in the material preview... Know how to do that?? Thanks!!
theqball
double click on the material preview and drag the popup window to the size of your liking. keep in mind it has to render this so the bigger the longer it will take for updates. upshot
Yes... I know how to get a better resolution material preview. What I'm looking for is better resolution in the VIEWPORT: Red - Check. Cyan - how do I get higher resolution here??
theqball
ahhh sorry about that... read that one too fast. go to Customize -> Preferences -> Viewports tab -> Configure Driver set the texture sizes to 1024 and 512 and check match bitmap sizes as close as possible there will still be some dithering done for viewport performace and depending on your graphics card you may or may not see the full resolution of the texture in view. hope this helps.
