jtiscareno
I have a small problem, I am getting some good reflections with the vray glass material and good lighting from an exterio sun source but for some reason I can't get the sunlights to come INTO the room, I can see the light but not the actual light rays, so I have to change and use a standar material with some raytrace reflection to see the sunlight come in. I am guessing that I might have a setting on or off. Any ideas? THX
Ismael
Maybe this helps, specially Gabriellas input near the end of the post. http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10094&highlight=affect+shadows Ismael
Tim Saunders
if you end up wanting to go back from standard mats, try not using refraction. last option, uncheck cast shadows.
Joelp
If you place an all black map in the opacity map slot of the V-Ray material it will allow the light to pass-through. Personally I use a Checker map with black in both slots.
jtiscareno
Joel thanks, but why do you use a checker map? Is it better....
Joelp
The only reason is that it is the first in the list of maps that only have two color slots, just the easiest one to grab.
Tyorl
may be I don't understand u right... but why don't u use VrayMTL with simple refraction 250;250;250. And check the Affect shadows...
Joelp
That is a good question? To be honest I have overlooked that check box. After looking at it, there are different effects and control you can achieve with the opacity map method.
