Guest nazcaLine
this issue annoys me: when i want to use batch render in max 8, i get "external file missing". is there a way to tell the program "just render it , no problem a bout the missing maps?" any help would be appreciated, thanks. Guest nazcaLine
errr...nobody knows something about this? or is it that nobody uses batch rendering in max 8?
ShaunDon
Eduardo -- When you say batch rendering, do you mean backburner? If there isn't an option in the General Settings on the manager, try the Advanced button when you submit the job. That's all I can suggest -- you're on discreet's bleeding edge at the moment. Most shops I work with including ours are holding back a couple months before upgrading to 8. Good luck! Shaun
BrianKitts
I had the same problem with some files doing exactly what you are describing only it was using backburner, instead of batch. My problem was in the switchover from max 7 to 8. Any files that were xref'd in max 7 would fail when loaded in 8. I don't know if there is a better work around..... but I ended up unattaching the xrefs, opening the xref'd files in 8 and resaving them. Then reattaching to the main file in 8. After all this headache, everything worked fine and rendered correctly without any errors. The frustrating part is that the "erroring xrefs" would render fine locally but would error out through backburner. The fix I described above fixed everything though. Like I said I don't know if this is the easiest way to fix what I think you are sharing as the same problem, but it worked for me.
abicalho
There's no "Don't bother about missing maps" when doing Batch Rendering or Network Rendering. You simply have to get the maps in order. You can click the "Don't show me again" in that dialog, but it's only valid for the current session and outside of batch rendering.
