*Pete*
do you want to know how to make the glass nearly white and without reflection? im not familiar with 3dsmax, but im sure there is a way to add a gradient on the specular channel, it should give you that effect. ShaunDon
Most viz shops do their glass reflections and highlights in Photoshop with passes. Render yourself a specular pass and a pure reflection pass, then composite it onto the render. Try the various blend modes (screen/multiply/overlay/etc) in different layers, and use gradient masks to transitions. I know it sounds like cheating, and it makes animations a bit more work, but the effect is very nice and it's a lot quicker and more satisfying to find the look you want in PS than in max. nisus
Try the various blend modes (screen/multiply/overlay/etc) in different layers, and use gradient masks to transitions. Stick to the normal BM delete a selection on the red channel to make lighter areas reflect less than darker ones ;-)) next do gradients ,-) nisus
