AJLynn
im looking to increase my processing power / decrease rendering times. anyone have good advice on buying a new CPU set up? AthlonX2 seems to have the best price/performance these days, especially with tasks like rendering that will take advantage of the dual cores. tecton3d
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch&ATT=19-103-562 yep ~ they are 64 bit: ) I'm in the process of building 4- dual xeon rigs based on the 1.6lv D1 stepping processors. A matched pair can be had for around 120$ and you can overclock them to 3.0ghz (for a totoal of 6ghz!) without extreme cooling.
